Share Your Library Stories!
Welcome to My Alabama Library!
Launching Summer/Fall 2025
❤️ A young child develops a life-long love of reading at weekly storytimes with their favorite librarian.
❤️ A widower stays connected with his community—and keeps his mind sharp—by going to local author talks.
❤️ A single mom starts a meaningful new career because of free technology classes and resume workshops.
❤️ A lonely teenager finds friendship and acceptance at their library’s game nights for teens.
There are over 220 public libraries in Alabama, and every single one has countless stories like these.
My Alabama Library is a grassroots online publication that will share community-centered stories about how your Alabama library changes lives every day. Through this website, an email newsletter, and social media, My Alabama Library will spread the good news about the transformative power of public libraries.
Want to be a part of this effort? Both librarians and library users are encouraged to share their stories. If you’d like to partner with My Alabama Library in another way, contact us here.
